This Green Monster smoothie is packed with enough nutrients to keep your skin glowing all day long! As an overall vitamin, mineral and antioxidant powerhouse, it not only tastes delicious but it makes you feel great too. Generally speaking, most people take one look at a green smoothie and become either completely disgusted or taken aback. I’m all about the philosophy that it matters most what’s on the inside, and this holds true to it:

1 ripe banana

2 handfuls organic fresh spinach

1 handful organic frozen peaches

1 handful frozen pineapple

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1/2 lemon juiced

1/2 cup almond milk (I used organic toasted coconut almond milk!)

1 cup water

Blend together and serve with a fun straw!

What you want to know:

The banana, pineapple, almond milk and peaches provide an abundance of potassium to help sustain long lasting energy. The peaches, pineapple and spinach are full of vitamin A (great for your eyes!) vitamin K, dietary fiber and powerful antioxidants. Lemons and peaches specifically provide a rich source of vitamin C (immune system boosting and skin anti aging) as well as lycopene and lutein which promote heart health.

Chia seeds are loaded with healthy nutrients, fatty acids and minerals. Not only that, but they help keep you fuller longer because of their high satiety level (expands in your stomach!). Chia seeds are 60% omega-3s fatty acid, which help lower cholesterol, reduce inflammation, and improve cognitive performance. These lil’ guys are great!

Almond milk is a great alternative to dairy or soy products, plus its delicious! packed with vitamin E (glowing skin!) and vitamin B for metabolism regulation. Combined with the toasted coconut, it brings 50% of your daily value for calcium.
