There’s something to be said for a woman who is so confident in her own abilities that she is able to genuinely support other women. In today’s society, there is plenty of feminist buzz around “supporting other queens,” as shows such as Broad City, Girls, and Insecure shed light on the lives of millennial women attempting to navigate the world. It’s not a new concept, but in a day where there is so much stimulation, and so many options for how life can play out, I think that it’s important to add to the conversation.
This is part of the reason why I started Mass Musings Girls’ Night. Since founding Mass Musings in 2012, one of my goals has been to bring people together that may not have found each other otherwise. A few months ago, about 6 months into living in Los Angeles, I was able to do just that in a gorgeous loft space in Downtown LA. Over 30 badass chicks from around the city gathered together in support of my crazy goal and it was SO much fun. We sipped wine, danced to a specially curated playlist, shopped hand crafter jewelry, swapped clothes and generally had a great time.
Without the generous support of these sponsors, #MMGIRLSNIGHT wouldn’t have been what it was so a HUGE THANK YOU to them! All of these brands were hand picked by yours truly and get the official Mass Musings stamp of approval. Please do take the time to check each one out – they all have very unique stories and are run by some really incredible people.
I want to create a community of people (not just women!) who are genuine, driven and creative. “Your vibe attracts your tribe” and I want the MM Tribe to continue to be dope as hell. Thanks to all the ladies who came to the first ever Mass Musings Girls’ Night – I can’t wait for the next one!
