I first discovered Ruba Ruba Designs at the same time that I became friends with Tilden. I had stumbled across her blog To Be Bright on Lucky Community when she was still a newcomer to the scene. At the time she was doing a giveaway for a SICK hand-painted elephant sweatshirt and I had to have it. The level of excitement when I found out I won was off the charts! Since then, I’ve been following the progress of designer Georgia Caroline Milton and am so pleased to finally be featuring her work on Mass Musings.

Each item in the Ruba Ruba collection is “designed, cut, hand-dyed, and hand-made, in house by Georgia Caroline. She designs clothing and accessories that are made to be a highlight in your wardrobe. All of the garments she creates are inspired by Origami. Georgia Caroline strives to bring focus to the detail and quality of her garments. She wants to discourage the disposable view of clothing that has become pervasive today. She strives to combat this disposable view, by creating timeless, well crafted items that become integrated into your daily life.” If that’s not enough to make you fall in love, perhaps seeing one of her signature Cowl Scarves will do the trick.

My favorite part of these scarves are the leather detailing on the back. I think it adds more depth to the design and dresses up any outfit in seconds. Also, the way in which it’s sewn creates an immediate waterfall effect, no need for looping and draping, just throw it on and you’re good to go!
