    STIR IT UP

Mom’s have a knack for always giving and very rarely receiving. They cook, clean, offer emotional and physical support (Mom hugs are the best hugs) and are essentially just awesome. If you’re like me though, you probably don’t show your appreciation for, or acknowledge, their sacrifices enough. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a great one-on-one date with your mom at home for Mother’s Day instead of stressing over restaurant reservations or gifts? I think so! That’s why I’m excited to announce that I’ve partnered with some great people to bring you a Mother’s Day treat to top them all!

Patricia Kiernan is a Jamaican native and has built her company Stir It Up Cuisine around the art of Caribbean cooking. Each meal that she prepares captures the authenticity and flavor that you would expect from a Caribbean dish. But Patricia doesn’t stop there! She has even extended her reach to include gourmet jellies (maybe the most delicious that I’ve ever tasted!) that are available for you to purchase and use in your own meal preparation.

To properly present the Stir It Up Jelly in all it’s glory, I enlisted the help of Dan Whalen of The Food In My Beard. Dan is an exceptional cook and renowned “foodie,” boasting several television appearances and a published book of delicious recipes! He came up with a killer baked brie recipe that you can make for Mother’s Day or any other event that calls for an easy appetizer.

Baked Brie featuring Stir It Up Jelly

Prep Time: 10 mins

Bake Time: 35 mins

Total Time: 45 mins

INGREDIENTS

1 Wheel Brie

1/4 Cup Stir It Up Jelly

1/3 Cup Pecans

Pita Chips

DIRECTIONS

– Slice top off of the wheel of Brie and put into baking container

– Bake at 350° until the cheese has significantly melted into almost a fondue-like substance

– While the brie is baking, toast the pecans in a stove top pan for about 3 mins

– Remove the cheese and stir in jelly and pecans

– Serve with pita chips and enjoy!

But wait… there’s more!

  1. WOW this recipe looks good!! I love any sort of baked Brie! I completed the entry for the Mother’s Day Dinner for two and realized I accidentally typed my twitter handle (@emilyjgoodman) in the field where I followed @stiritupcuisine on Instagram rather than my Instagram handle which is @emmalee537…I did follow though, I just want sure how to edit the entry!

    • Not a problem! Thanks for letting me know and I’ll make a note so that I take that into account when verifying all entries 🙂 Thanks for entering!! xo
