“Your vibe attracts your tribe.” It was a phrase that I heard for the first time at a wellness conference in Boston. Something about it really struck a chord with me. The notion of operating on the same frequency as someone else was a new concept for me at the time, so it really opened my mind to a new way of thinking. I have since seen it used in several marketing campaigns and although I typically don’t love commercialized phrases, this one still has a hold on my heart. After all, the sentiment of this quote was the basis for founding Mass Musings and The Tribe

When Kate and I started planning what we wanted to capture for Grandoozy (besides the incredible music), showcasing connections between people was the number one priority. If there’s anything that I’ve noticed at festivals, it’s that they are like a micro-society. In general life, we all vibrate in energy circles that are constantly interacting with other circles – always changing and adapting. What I’ve come to believe through my experiences is that my gut tells me when I’ve encountered another being with similar energy. When I find a vibration that matches mine, that’s when I’m happiest, feeling the safest, or generally just having a great time. It’s a feeling you get when you lock eyes with someone as you boogie through a crowd and share a special moment, even for a split second. It’s dancing yourself clean of any inhibitions amongst total strangers and feeling loved and accepted. It’s being energetically drawn to a group of guys who look “fun” and realizing that you used to work with one of them – these moments transpire into some of our favorite memories and remind us that we do this because we want to be vulnerable, we want to be creative, and we want to enjoy and support the energies in our space!

It’s been about a month since Grandoozy, but we are still flying high because of the incredible people who attended the festival. Music isn’t just a way to bring people together, it’s a catalyst for love, understanding and acceptance. When you attend a large-scale music event, you are opting in to exchanging energy and stepping outside your comfort zone with complete strangers. Kate and I discovered that we have an incredible opportunity to tell the stories that lie beneath the surface at events like this. We feel honored to be able to showcase the beauty of human connection, creative passion, and just general fucking FUN!  It’s rare that you find the people that are meant for you, YOUR people. If we can help you find that by connecting you to others in your vibration, then we have done our job. If we can do all of those things while tearing up a dance floor, even better!

Our hope is that this video showcases the people and energy of Grandoozy’s inaugural festival in Denver, Colorado. It was an all-around wonderful time and we can’t wait to keep telling these stories at other events!
