So you’re ready to try the “beanie” trend, but you aren’t sure if you can pull it off. I’m here to tell you that you can! What I’ve learned in my years of beanie wearing is that it’s all about head placement. Let me break it down for you:

1) The Spinelli This is when you just plop the beanie on top of your head, allowing most of the material to stick straight up, effectively creating the “Spinelli” look from the cartoon Recess. This is useful for when you’re trying to look super hip and cool but don’t know where to start. (photos 4, 5 & 7

2) Laid Back  Start by placing your beanie on your head as you would with the Spinelli but then pull the back down so that it sits lower on your neck and less on your forehead. This hat is particularly good for this look! (photos 2, 3, 6 & 9)

3) Floppy Fish I typically use a more relaxed fabric (in hat form of course) for this one. You can pretty much just put this on your head and it will do what it wants but MAN do you look HIP. A personal favorite for when I haven’t washed my hair in days… now you know. (photos 1 & 8)
